SpaceX is hiring an Electrical Engineer for the Starship Avionics team to develop high-reliability avionics components. You'll work with advanced electronics and design circuits for extreme environments at Starbase, TX.
You have a strong background in electrical engineering with experience in developing avionics components — you've worked on high-reliability systems and understand the challenges of designing for extreme environments. Your expertise includes both analog and digital circuit design, and you are comfortable with schematic capture and prototyping. You thrive in collaborative environments, working alongside motivated engineers to achieve ambitious goals. You are detail-oriented and have a passion for innovation in aerospace technology.
Experience with hardware testing and qualification processes is a plus — you understand the importance of rigorous testing in ensuring the reliability of avionics systems. As an Electrical Engineer on the Starship Avionics team, you will rapidly develop high-reliability avionics components for the Starship and Super Heavy systems. Your responsibilities will include capturing requirements, selecting components, and conducting analysis to ensure designs meet stringent specifications. You will design and implement both analog and digital circuits, ensuring they perform reliably in extreme conditions. Additionally, you will lead acceptance and qualification testing campaigns, pushing designs to their limits to validate performance.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical and software engineers, to integrate avionics systems into the overall spacecraft architecture. Your role will involve debugging and troubleshooting hardware issues, documenting your work, and supporting manufacturing processes. You will also participate in design reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering practices within the team.
