SpaceX is seeking an Ultra Precision Machining Specialist to develop precision machining processes for producing micron-level parts. You'll work with advanced machining equipment and collaborate with a skilled team. This role requires over 5 years of experience in machining processes.
You have over 5 years of experience independently developing machining processes, demonstrating your ability to plan, program, and execute complex machining tasks. Your background includes working with advanced machining technologies, and you are skilled in designing tooling and CAM programming. You thrive in environments where you can proactively identify and address potential development and production blockers, ensuring smooth operations. Your technical expertise allows you to maintain and troubleshoot defined processes effectively while in production.
You are passionate about precision machining and have a strong understanding of 3/4/5 axis mills and multi-axis turning centers. Your experience includes working with pallet systems and automating machining processes to enhance efficiency. You are detail-oriented and committed to producing high-quality parts that meet stringent specifications. You enjoy collaborating with machinists and engineers to bring new product lines to life on tight timelines, showcasing your ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards.
Experience with advanced manufacturing techniques and a strong understanding of the latest machining technologies will set you apart. Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in precision machining is highly desirable. You are open to continuous learning and improvement, always seeking ways to enhance your skills and contribute to the team's success.
As an Ultra Precision Machining Specialist, you will be responsible for developing precision machining cells that produce single-digit micron parts. You will scope, develop, execute, and automate precision machining processes, ensuring that the parts produced meet the highest quality standards. Your role will involve designing tooling and CAM programming, working closely with machinists to prove out and bring up new product lines efficiently.
You will proactively identify and address potential development and production blockers, ensuring that projects move forward smoothly. Your responsibilities will include defining and communicating manufacturing processes to production and engineering teams, ensuring that everyone is aligned and informed. You will maintain and troubleshoot defined processes while in production, ensuring that operations run efficiently and effectively.
