What you'll do

In this role, you will own the architecture of Motional’s ML infrastructure, enabling scalable storage and access for over 100 engineers and researchers. You will design and evolve infrastructure to support complex machine learning workflows, ensuring that the systems can handle multimodal perception data and continuous training pipelines effectively.

You will architect high-throughput systems for distributed training on large GPU clusters, driving improvements in utilization and job efficiency. Your leadership will be crucial in establishing robust data governance and retention strategies, ensuring compliance and long-term data utility.

Collaboration will be key as you work closely with ML engineers and autonomy researchers to ensure that the infrastructure meets their needs. You will lead the technical strategy and roadmap development for the ML Infra team, incorporating feedback from stakeholders and aligning with the company’s goals.

You will also mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and experience to help them grow in their careers. Your role will involve staying hands-on with the technology, contributing to the development of innovative solutions that push the boundaries of what is possible in autonomous vehicle development.
