ATS (Amazon Transportation Services) is seeking a Transportation Execution Manager to help develop a world class logistics process that delivers goods on time at the best cost. Our team objective is to manage to excellence freight execution flowing through our transportation networks, specifically focused on transportation carrier management, development, quality and performance.
This role requires an ambitious individual. You’ll represent a critical function within our wider Amazon Transportation Operations, as we work to continuously improve the service levels, capacities and costs of the Amazon Brazil Transportation Line Haul. This will help us ensure promises to our valued customers are being fulfilled each and every time.
Key job responsibilities
- Transportation carrier performance management, such as on-time truck performance,
- Pulling data from numerous databases (using Excel, Access, SQL and/or other data management systems) and performing ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed;
- Identifying appropriate performance metrics for each program and ensure consistent measurement and accountability.
- Continual, operational/tactical communication with external customers (Carriers) and internal customers (Fulfillment Centers, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, Amazon Logistics);
- Develop performance metrics to assist with driving business results;
- Systematically escalate problems or variance in the information and data to the relevant owners and teams and follow through on the resolutions to ensure they are delivered;
- Tracking existing metrics to detect & remove any defects;
- Continuous Improvement Management with carriers, as well as development of SOPs;
- Preparing for and participating in regular Operations calls, business reviews.
A day in the life
As a Transportation Manager, you’ll be responsible for resolving delivery performance issues that could negatively affect our customers. You’ll understand the unique challenges of the transportation team and manage them collaboratively with other cross-functional teams. Your motivation and commitment to our customers will ensure that our response to delivery issues is timely and efficient. You will be required to make real-time decisions effectively, by doing your research, weighing up your options and learning as you progress. The result of your work will be the timely delivery of Amazon packages to millions of customers around the world. - Bachelor's degree;
- Ability to prepare, report on and interpret large sets of data;
- Advanced Excel (including Pivot Tables, VLookUps);
- Advanced English, both spoken and written;
- Experience in a fast-moving Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics and/or Ecommerce environment.- Knowledge of Lean principles and DMAIC methodology;
- Experience in MS Access and SQL;
- Experience in requirement gathering and ability to write clear and detailed requirement document.
