Google is seeking a Technical Solutions Engineer to support enterprise cloud solutions and customer needs. You'll work with technologies like VMware and Google Cloud, requiring 5 years of coding experience in various languages.
You have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, along with 5 years of experience writing and debugging code in languages such as Java, C, C++, Python, Shell, Go, or JavaScript. Your background includes working with virtualization and orchestration frameworks, and you have experience supporting customers in enterprise cloud solutions, including technical support and issue resolution. You are familiar with compute infrastructure and have developed and maintained cloud solutions in virtualized environments.
Your expertise extends to VMware technologies, including vSphere (ESXi, vCenter), vSAN, and NSX-T. You may hold a certification in VMware Professional or a similar qualification, showcasing your commitment to the field. You have experience with IaaS solutions, including virtual machines and networks, and understand cloud identity and security models, as well as cloud monitoring and logging.
You are knowledgeable about the VMware platform and ecosystem tools, including first-party VMware ecosystem tools like horizon VDI and vRealize operations/automation, as well as third-party tools such as Veeam and Zerto. Your experience also includes application and operations tools like F5, Splunk, and SolarWinds, which are essential for managing and troubleshooting cloud environments.
In this role, you will interact with our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams to drive high-quality production and respond to outages, minimizing impact on customers. You will understand customer issues and advocate for their needs with cross-functional teams, contributing to supportability engineering with multiple product and engineering teams to improve product quality and reduce contact rates. Your responsibilities will include supporting, developing, and maintaining cloud solutions in virtualized environments, ensuring that customer needs are met effectively.
You will be involved in configuration, management, and troubleshooting of VMware technologies, playing a crucial role in the implementation and migration of VMware environments using SRE or similar production practices. Your work will directly impact the quality of service provided to customers, as you will be responsible for resolving escalated issues and providing technical support.
