Overview

Cribl is seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to enhance their continuous testing systems and automation processes. You'll work closely with development teams to ensure product quality and reliability. This role requires expertise in Java, Python, and test automation frameworks.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in software development and testing, with at least 5 years of experience in roles focused on quality assurance and test automation. Your expertise in Java and Python allows you to write effective test scripts and integrate testing into the development lifecycle seamlessly. You are familiar with testing frameworks such as Selenium and JUnit, and you understand the importance of continuous integration and delivery in modern software development. You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working closely with development teams to ensure high-quality product releases. You are detail-oriented and have a knack for identifying potential issues before they reach production, ensuring a smooth user experience. You are also comfortable with reporting quality metrics and using them to drive improvements in testing processes.

Desirable

Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure is a plus, as is familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker. Knowledge of performance testing tools and methodologies would further enhance your ability to contribute to the team. You are open to learning new technologies and methodologies, and you are eager to share your knowledge with others.

What you'll do

In this role, you will integrate with and improve Cribl's continuous testing systems, focusing on enhancing automation and reporting quality metrics. You will collaborate with development teams to ensure that testing is an integral part of the development process, helping to identify and resolve issues early. Your responsibilities will include designing and implementing automated tests, maintaining test environments, and ensuring that all software releases meet quality standards. You will also be involved in mentoring junior team members and sharing best practices in test automation.
