Job Description

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with 8 years of experience in software development. With 7 years of experience in full-stack development, you are proficient in back-end technologies such as Java, Python, Go, or C++, and front-end technologies including JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS. You are adept at using data science or statistical methods to derive insights and solve problems, and you understand the importance of optimizing not just your own code but also ensuring your team can optimize theirs. You thrive in environments that require collaboration across multiple stakeholders and are comfortable managing and communicating with executive stakeholders.

Desirable

Experience in artificial intelligence, natural language processing, or distributed workflows and platforms would be advantageous, as would familiarity with designing, building, and maintaining back-end services and APIs.

What you'll do

As a Senior Engineering Manager at Google, you will lead a team of engineers in designing, building, and maintaining back-end services and APIs that support the PDEIO Agents. You will guide your team through complex problem spaces, ensuring that project goals are met while contributing to product strategy. Your role will involve driving cross-functional projects that require collaboration with multiple stakeholders, including gathering feedback and managing go-to-market strategies for the agents your team builds.

You will be responsible for optimizing team performance and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. This includes conducting regular one-on-ones with team members to support their professional development and career growth. You will also play a key role in hiring and building a diverse and talented team, ensuring that you attract top talent to Google.

In addition to technical leadership, you will be involved in strategic planning and execution, helping to shape the direction of projects and initiatives within the organization. Your ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders will be crucial in this role, as you will need to articulate project goals and progress clearly.
