Overview

Astranis is seeking a Director of Facilities and Safety to oversee the maintenance of their state-of-the-art campus and lead safety initiatives. This role requires strong leadership skills and a hands-on approach to safety management.

Who you are

You have a proven track record in facilities management and safety oversight, with experience in leading teams to achieve operational excellence. Your hands-on management style allows you to effectively create and enforce safety policies, driving your organization towards zero injuries. You are adept at building and leading diverse teams of specialists and generalists, ensuring that all projects align with the company's mission of producing 24 satellites per year. You understand the importance of maintaining a state-of-the-art facility and have experience in managing large-scale projects that enhance operational efficiency.

Desirable

Experience in the aerospace or technology sector is a plus, as is familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards. You are a proactive problem solver who thrives in dynamic environments and can adapt to the evolving needs of a growing organization. Your ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, from engineers to executives, sets you apart as a leader in your field.

What you'll do

As the Director of Facilities and Safety at Astranis, you will be responsible for maintaining the 150,000 sqft campus located in the historic Pier 70 building. You will oversee the development of new engineering, production, and office spaces to support the company's ambitious goal of producing 24 satellites annually. Your role will involve creating and implementing safety programs that prioritize employee well-being and compliance with industry standards. You will lead a team dedicated to executing projects that enhance the functionality and safety of the facility, ensuring that all operations run smoothly and efficiently.

You will collaborate closely with engineering and production teams to understand their needs and provide the necessary infrastructure to support their work. Your leadership will be crucial in fostering a culture of safety and operational excellence, where every team member feels empowered to contribute to the company's mission. You will also be responsible for budgeting and resource allocation for facilities projects, ensuring that all initiatives are completed on time and within budget.
