Amazon is hiring an Engineering Technician to maintain and troubleshoot mission-critical technology infrastructure in Sparks, Nevada. You'll work with electrical and mechanical systems to ensure 99.999% uptime for AWS data centers.
You are an entry-level Engineering Technician with a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical systems. You have hands-on experience troubleshooting and maintaining critical infrastructure, ensuring that technology operates seamlessly. Your attention to detail and problem-solving skills make you a valuable asset in maintaining high uptime standards. You thrive in a collaborative environment, working alongside a diverse team of engineers and specialists to support AWS data centers. You are eager to learn and grow in your role, contributing to the reliability of global digital experiences.
Experience with diesel generators and fuel systems is a plus, as well as familiarity with three-phase electrical systems. You may have worked with cooling systems, pumps, and motors, giving you a well-rounded understanding of data center operations. A background in AWS infrastructure or similar environments would be beneficial, but not required.
As an Engineering Technician at Amazon, you will play a critical role in maintaining the heartbeat of our data centers. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and operating mission-critical facilities, ensuring that all systems are functioning optimally. Your day-to-day tasks will include maintaining and operating stand-by diesel generators, UPS systems, and other electrical equipment. You will work closely with a team of engineers to monitor system performance and address any issues that arise, contributing to our goal of achieving 99.999% uptime.
You will also participate in routine maintenance and inspections of electrical and mechanical systems, documenting your findings and collaborating with your team to implement improvements. Your role will involve hands-on work with various equipment, including CRAC units, centrifugal chillers, and cooling towers. You will be expected to follow safety protocols and best practices to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
