Overview

Datadog is seeking a Strategic Account Executive to target and close new business with large, strategic customers. You'll focus on understanding customer pain points in cloud environments and delivering tailored solutions. This role requires 5+ years of closing experience and a proven track record in sales.

Who you are

You have over 5 years of closing experience, with a mix of field selling within mid-market and enterprise environments. You are driven and have consistently met or exceeded direct sales goals of $1M+, operating with an average deal size of $100k+. Your ability to prospect and build relationships is second to none, and you have a deep comprehension of customer business needs. You are resourceful when faced with challenges and possess an intuitive sense of the necessary steps to close business and gain customer validation.

Desirable

Experience working with Fortune 1000 companies is a plus, as is familiarity with cloud solutions and the ability to negotiate favorable pricing and business terms. You thrive in a hybrid workplace, valuing collaboration and creativity in your work environment.

What you'll do

In this role, you will prospect into large Fortune 1000 companies while running an efficient sales process. You will maintain, build, and own specific relationship maps for your territory, including existing relationships and aspirational contacts. Your goal will be to develop a deep understanding of your customers' businesses and to negotiate favorable pricing and business terms by effectively selling value and ROI. You will handle existing customer expectations while expanding your reach and depth into your assigned territory, ensuring high forecasting accuracy and consistency.

You will demonstrate resourcefulness when faced with challenges that defy easy solutions, and you will identify a robust set of business drivers behind all opportunities. Your ability to close business and gain customer validation will be crucial to your success in this role.
