Storable is seeking a Senior Product Owner to drive the execution and delivery of high-impact features across their Marketplace business unit. You'll collaborate with engineering, design, and data science teams to translate product strategy into actionable requirements. This role requires strong product management skills and the ability to manage complex initiatives.

Sr. Product Owner 

Job Description:

As a Senior Product Owner for Storable’s Marketplace business unit, you will drive the execution and delivery of high-impact features across our portfolio of Marketplace domains (SpareFoot.com, Storage.com, SelfStorage.com, and StorageAuctions.com). You will work closely with engineering, design, data science, and business stakeholders to translate product strategy into clear requirements, maintain a well-structured backlog, and ensure teams have the detail, context, and clarity needed to deliver high-quality outcomes.

This role requires a strong product mindset, exceptional problem-solving, and the ability to drive clarity and accountability across multiple teams. You will manage complex initiatives, balance competing priorities, and elevate the user experience while ensuring we meet performance, reliability, and conversion goals.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Product Ownership

  • Own one or more major Marketplace modules or functional pillars, serving as the subject matter expert and primary decision-maker for scope, requirements clarity, and delivery execution.
  • Translate product strategy and goals into actionable requirements and delivery plans.
  • Partner with Product Managers and senior leaders to provide input into quarterly and annual roadmaps, ensuring initiatives have clear dependencies and success criteria.

Backlog Leadership & Execution Excellence

  • Lead the full lifecycle of feature development, from problem definition and requirements refinement, to sprint planning, launch, iteration, and performance monitoring.
  • Create high-fidelity user stories, acceptance criteria, and detailed requirements that enable engineering to execute with clarity and confidence.
  • Own backlog prioritization based on business value, user impact, technical feasibility, and system health considerations.
  • Drive efficient sprint ceremonies by partnering closely with engineering managers to balance short-term delivery with long-term technical sustainability.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Influence

  • Serve as the connective tissue across engineering, design, QA, SEO, SEM, data science, and Marketplace business teams to ensure alignment on priorities and execution.
  • Facilitate cross-team decision-making by identifying risks, raising trade-offs, and creating structured paths to resolution.
  • Provide leadership-level visibility through clear communication of status, risks, metrics, and delivery milestones.

Front-End User Experience Stewardship

  • Partner deeply with UX designers to ensure user flows, UI components, and accessibility standards support a best-in-class consumer experience.
  • Participate in design reviews, research sessions, A/B tests, and usability studies; ensure insights meaningfully influence requirements and backlog refinement.
  • Advocate for simplicity, performance, and conversion-driving UX across all Marketplace surfaces.

Performance Measurement & Iteration

  • Track KPIs and success criteria for your product areas, including adoption, engagement, funnel conversion, and revenue impact.
  • Analyze feature performance using analytics tools; proactively identify opportunities for optimization and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with analytics and data science partners to validate assumptions, model outcomes, and influence product decisions.

Process Leadership & Operational Rigor

  • Maintain accurate, continuously updated documentation (Jira, Confluence, Support).
  • Participate in architectural reviews, security reviews, and dependency mapping to ensure compliance and future-proofing of product capabilities.
  • Support QA through review of test plans, validation of acceptance criteria, and structured triage and prioritization of issues.

Customer Insight & Quality Management

  • Lead structured intake and triage of feedback from customer-facing teams and operators.
  • Prioritize defect resolution, workflow refinements, and user-facing improvements based on impact to the customer experience and Marketplace performance.

Industry Awareness & Thought Leadership

  • Stay current on best practices in product ownership, agile delivery, conversion optimization, and marketplace UX.
  • Share insights and propose process improvements to increase team velocity, quality, and predictability.
  • Mentor junior Product Owners and serve as a role model for high-quality documentation, decision-making, and stakeholder management.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Design, or a related field.
  • 5–7+ years of experience in Product Ownership, Product Management, or related roles delivering consumer-facing or marketplace products.
  • Demonstrated success delivering features end-to-end in agile environments, including backlog ownership, sprint planning, and cross-functional alignment.
  • Strong understanding of front-end development concepts (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, modern frameworks) and ability to engage meaningfully with engineering teams.
  • Experience working with analytics tools (Google Analytics, Amplitude, Looker, Tableau, SQL).
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex topics and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high product quality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within a multi-domain marketplace ecosystem.
  • Familiarity with SEO/SEM impacts on product design and acquisition flows.
  • Experience working alongside data science teams to deliver algorithmic or recommendation-based features.
  • Strong UX intuition with experience participating in research, prototyping, and usability testing.
  • Prior experience navigating large-scale platform migrations, architectural modernization, or multi-quarter engineering programs.
