Google is seeking a Senior Global Category Manager for Data Center Equipment to optimize supply chain strategies and manage supplier relationships. You'll leverage your expertise in data center infrastructure and negotiations to enhance operational efficiency. This role requires 10 years of experience in category strategy and supply chain management.
You have a Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering field or equivalent practical experience, along with at least 10 years of experience in category strategy, negotiations, and supply chain management. Your background includes 3 years of experience specifically in data center infrastructure equipment and supplier management. An MBA or Master's degree in a technical or engineering field is preferred, and you have 5 years of experience in data center infrastructure. You are skilled in working with general contractors, integrators, and suppliers in large infrastructure environments, and you possess excellent leadership and influencing skills.
As a Global Category Manager, you will collaborate with Engineering teams to ensure that Google has the necessary supplies and equipment to support innovative products. You will utilize your extensive industry knowledge and strategic supplier relationships to optimize the total cost of ownership for Google's global infrastructure. Your role will involve conducting strategic technology negotiations, including contractual agreements, to meet cost, lead time, and capacity objectives. You will implement supply chain, inventory, and process improvements through supplier performance metrics, scorecards, and regular business reviews. Additionally, you will partner closely with Data Center Engineering and Construction teams to ensure that all equipment and supplies are in place for production.
