You have a strong background in compute architecture and performance analysis, ideally with experience in autonomous systems or high-performance computing. You are curious and eager to learn, with a passion for pushing the boundaries of technology. You thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy working with multidisciplinary teams to solve complex problems. You understand the importance of numerical correctness and have experience developing tests and tools to ensure high standards in performance evaluation. You are detail-oriented and have a methodical approach to identifying and analyzing compute workloads. You are comfortable communicating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring clarity and understanding across teams.
Experience with autonomous vehicles or related technologies is a plus. Familiarity with high-performance computing environments and custom silicon design would be beneficial. A background in software development or engineering principles will help you excel in this role.
In this role, you will identify important compute workloads for autonomous vehicles and understand their performance characteristics. You will develop and maintain tests and tools for numerical correctness, ensuring that the compute platform meets the high standards required for autonomous driving. You will collaborate closely with software engineers and hardware designers to optimize the performance of the compute platform, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in autonomous vehicle technology. You will analyze performance data and provide insights that drive improvements in the compute architecture. You will participate in design reviews and contribute to the overall strategy for compute workload management. Your work will directly impact the efficiency and reliability of the Waymo Driver, contributing to the mission of making autonomous driving a safe and trusted mode of transportation.
Waymo offers a competitive salary range of $204,000—$259,000 USD, along with eligibility for an annual bonus program and equity incentive plan.
