Amazon is hiring a Lab Engineer for the Integrated Test team to support the construction of test procedures and processes for satellite technology. You'll work closely with manufacturing engineers and require skills in AWS. This role is based in Kirkland, Washington.
You have experience in engineering roles, particularly in laboratory or testing environments, where you've developed and implemented test procedures. Your background includes working with manufacturing engineers to create instructions and processes that enhance operational efficiency. You are skilled in defining, procuring, setting up, and maintaining test fixtures and support equipment, ensuring that all components meet standardization requirements across programs. You understand the importance of safety and quality in production and are proactive in identifying improvement opportunities.
Experience with satellite technology or aerospace engineering is a plus, as is familiarity with environmental testing processes. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and can adapt to changing priorities while maintaining a focus on quality and efficiency.
In this role, you will serve as a key point of support for test equipment and processes, ensuring that all operations run smoothly. You will create spacecraft hardware test procedures for technicians, developing standard operating procedures that help unblock issues during test operations. Your responsibilities will include establishing and increasing the efficiency of environmental test processes, which are crucial for transitioning products from engineering development to rate production. You will collaborate with fixture and harnessing teams to ensure component standardization, contributing to the foundational production system standards necessary for achieving high production rates. You will also work a 4x10 schedule, with potential shifts that may include weekends.
