Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience programming in C++.
- 5 years of experience with design and architecture; and testing/launching software products.
- Experience with reliability and business intelligence.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 8 years of experience with data structures/algorithms.
- 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
- 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
- Experience with data warehousing and databases.

This position is for a technical lead role in Looker, Google Cloud Platform (GCP's) Business Intelligence (BI) offering. Looker provides semantic modeling, visualizations and dashboarding, the ability to embed these into standalone applications, and other key BI capabilities and is a keystone product in GCP's Data Analytic's portfolio. Looker has several opportunities and long-term challenges to overcome in the next few years and needs experienced leaders.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $248,000-$349,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. - Provide technical leadership on high-impact projects.
- Influence and coach a distributed team of engineers.
- Contribute with scope across several project areas in Looker. A focus on improving reliability and operational excellence (debuggability, monitoring, and so on).
- Lead some projects and contribute to our codebase, while also growing and influencing the Looker engineering team as a whole.
- Contribute to strategic direction for the organization, working closely with Product Manager on defining product direction.
