Overview

SpaceX is seeking a Senior Program Reliability Engineer to oversee critical hardware flight worthiness evaluations for government spacecraft missions. You'll collaborate with engineering teams to ensure customer requirements are met and improve flight reliability. This role requires strong communication and project management skills.

Who you are

You have a strong background in program management, particularly in aerospace or related fields, with experience in ensuring flight worthiness for complex systems. You understand the importance of customer feedback and have a proven track record of implementing improvements based on lessons learned. Your communication skills are exceptional, allowing you to effectively liaise between engineering teams and government customers. You are detail-oriented and have a deep understanding of the processes involved in launch vehicle assessments. You thrive in high-stakes environments and are committed to achieving maximum reliability with minimal impact on engineering workflows. You are passionate about space exploration and are excited to contribute to missions that aim to advance humanity's presence in space.

Desirable

Experience with government contracts and an understanding of regulatory requirements in aerospace would be a significant advantage. Familiarity with quality assurance processes and methodologies is also desirable. A background in engineering or technical disciplines can enhance your effectiveness in this role.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for leading the flight worthiness evaluation activities for SpaceX's government missions. You will work closely with mission managers and engineering teams to ensure that all customer requirements are met throughout the launch vehicle build process. Your role will involve advocating for the customer by implementing their feedback and ensuring that lessons learned are integrated into future assessments. You will represent the SpaceX Quality and Build Reliability organization to government customers, ensuring that contractual deliverables are met. As the rate of government missions increases, you will focus on maximizing flight reliability confidence while minimizing the impact on engineering resources. You will develop and execute plans that streamline review processes and enhance confidence in SpaceX systems and processes. Your contributions will directly impact the success of government missions and the overall reliability of SpaceX's launch capabilities.
