Job Description

Amazon is continuing to invest in its Worldwide Online Display Advertising business to tap into the growing online advertising market. Amazon is using its first class technology and unique user insights to become the go-to solution for the world’s largest advertising agencies and advertisers.

The Ads Planner Engineering team is building the next generation of products and services that will fuel the growth of Amazon’s advertising business. We’re looking for motivated software engineers to build web applications and services. We need full stack engineers with a range of skills from HTML5/Javascript on the UI to Java for middle tier services. The more of these skills you have the better. You should feel comfortable developing in both web browser-based responsive UI and server environments. If you have a preference for UI or server work, we have some flexibility to accommodate your interest!

Our goal is to provide a frictionless experience to customers by implementing customer-facing features and enabling other development teams to build functionality. We seek to simplify and minimize the steps to create and optimize campaigns.

You’ll be responsible for owning, designing and delivering highly scalable systems that will be used by advertisers to help them plan their ad campaigns for better execution.
You’ll work as part of an agile development team together with product managers to scope, design, implement, test and launch new features. You will enjoy innovation, simplifying complex problems and tackling tough challenges. Does this sound like a good fit?

Key job responsibilities
- Collaborate with experienced cross-disciplinary Amazonians to conceive, design, and bring innovative products and services to market.
- Design and build innovative technologies in a large distributed computing environment and help lead fundamental changes in the industry.
- Create solutions to run predictions on distributed systems with exposure to innovative technologies at incredible scale and speed.
- Build distributed storage, index, and query systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, low cost, and easy to manage/use.
- Design and code the right solutions starting with broadly defined problems.
- Work in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software.

A day in the life
As a software development engineer on Ads Planner team, you will frequently work on features that solve key business problems for our customers. You will get to solve difficult problems with high degree of technical complexity and ambiguity. You will collaborate with other engineers, scientists, program and product stakeholders on a daily basis.

The team owns the Media Planning services and application for advertisers to optimize planning.- 4+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
