Apple is seeking a WatchOS Systems Engineer to build and optimize foundational software for Apple Watch. You'll work with low-level OS systems and collaborate with various teams to enhance performance and power efficiency. This role requires 5+ years of experience in software development.
You have over 5 years of industry experience in software engineering, particularly in low-level OS systems such as kernel, Darwin, or drivers. Your deep technical understanding and hands-on experience with software development and lifecycle management make you a strong candidate for this role. You thrive on solving complex, open-ended problems and have a passion for the intersection of hardware and software. Your collaborative spirit allows you to work closely with Performance, Power, OS, and Hardware experts across Apple, ensuring that you contribute effectively to the team.
Your expertise in power and performance measurement and investigation is complemented by your ability to architect core OS features. You are comfortable diving into other teams' code to diagnose and resolve significant power issues, showcasing your problem-solving skills and technical acumen. You are also adept at building and maintaining tools that help engineers model and analyze performance and memory, demonstrating your commitment to optimizing system functionality.
Experience with prototyping new technologies and conducting investigative research will be a plus, as you will have the unique opportunity to define future hardware and software features. Your ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams will enhance your contributions to the watchOS Systems team.
As a WatchOS Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for building and optimizing the foundational software that drives the performance and power efficiency of the Apple Watch.
