Overview

Amazon is hiring an Engineering Operations Technician to maintain and troubleshoot mission-critical technology infrastructure. You'll work with electrical and mechanical systems to ensure 99.999% uptime. This position requires hands-on experience with data center operations.

Who you are

You are an entry-level Engineering Technician with a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical systems. You have hands-on experience troubleshooting complex equipment and are eager to learn about data center operations. Your attention to detail ensures that you maintain high standards of uptime and reliability in mission-critical environments. You thrive in collaborative settings, working alongside diverse teams of engineers and specialists to solve challenging problems. You are committed to continuous improvement and are excited about the opportunity to contribute to the technological infrastructure that powers global digital experiences.

Desirable

Experience with diesel generators and fuel systems is a plus, as well as familiarity with three-phase electrical systems. You may have worked with cooling systems, air handlers, and pumps in previous roles, giving you a well-rounded understanding of data center operations. A proactive attitude towards learning and adapting to new technologies will help you excel in this position.

What you'll do

As an Engineering Operations Technician at Amazon, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the heartbeat of our data centers. Your primary responsibilities will include operating and troubleshooting mission-critical facilities, ensuring that all systems are functioning optimally. You will work with stand-by diesel generators, UPSs, PDUs, and other electrical systems to maintain a seamless operation. Your expertise will directly contribute to achieving our goal of 99.999% uptime, which is essential for our customers' access to AWS services.

You will collaborate with a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, as well as supply chain specialists, to address any operational challenges that arise. Your role will involve hands-on work with various mechanical systems, including centrifugal chillers and cooling towers, ensuring that all equipment is maintained to the highest standards. You will also participate in regular maintenance checks and assist in the implementation of new technologies that enhance our operational efficiency.
