Zappos is looking for a Software Development Engineer III to help drive technical decisions and implementations for our Engage Tech Engineering Team. Your decisions and implementations will help our aim to increase customer engagement via targeted outbound marketing strategies, help customers make informed purchases, and ensure customer loyalty with Zappos.

Key job responsibilities
Exhibit depth of knowledge and familiarity with technologies to identify and deliver
innovative technical solutions that meet business needs and scale with growth
Effectively develop and maintain Java based applications utilizing AWS based services (Lambda/ECS/SQS/S3/DynamoDB/Redshift).
Partner with other engineers, product managers and UX designers to ensure optimal customer experiences.
Guide juniors members to build sustainable architectures and establish guidelines for
best-practices and instill a culture of quality and craftsmanship
Help drive the architecture and technology choices that enable an elegant and practical code.
Evaluate and make decisions around the use of new or existing software products and tools.
Experience with or strong interest in Machine Learning and Generative AI technologies is highly valued.
Work backwards from customer problems, figure out solutions, and implement them for speed and scalability.
Produce clear and comprehensive software documentation- 7+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 7+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 7+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
- Bachelor's degree- 7+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
