Overview

Amazon is hiring a Senior Technical Program Manager for Prime Video Sports to lead the development of innovative live sports experiences. You'll work with AWS and collaborate across teams to optimize live sports delivery. This role requires a strong background in program management and technical expertise.

Job Description

Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in technical program management, ideally within the media or entertainment industry — you've successfully led cross-functional teams to deliver complex projects on time and within budget. Your strong communication skills allow you to effectively collaborate with engineering, product, and design teams to drive project success.

You possess a deep understanding of live streaming technologies and the unique challenges associated with delivering high-quality sports content — your experience enables you to anticipate potential issues and proactively address them. You are passionate about sports and understand the importance of delivering a seamless viewing experience for fans.

You are skilled in using AWS and other cloud technologies to build scalable solutions — you have a proven track record of leveraging cloud infrastructure to enhance performance and reliability. Your analytical mindset allows you to assess project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.

You thrive in fast-paced environments and are comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously — your organizational skills and attention to detail ensure that nothing falls through the cracks. You are adept at using project management tools to track progress and communicate updates to stakeholders.

Desirable

Experience with agile methodologies and familiarity with tools like Jira or Asana is a plus — you understand how to adapt project plans to changing priorities while keeping the team aligned. A background in video streaming or sports broadcasting would be advantageous, as it will help you relate to the challenges faced by the Prime Video Sports team.

What you'll do

As a Senior Technical Program Manager at Amazon, you will lead the Prime Video Sports team in re-inventing the live sports experience — you will be responsible for defining project scope, objectives, and deliverables while ensuring alignment with business goals. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams to develop best-in-class live sports infrastructure, focusing on speed, quality, and availability.

You will manage the end-to-end project lifecycle, from initial planning through execution and delivery — your role will involve coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure that projects are completed on time and meet quality standards. You will facilitate regular meetings to track progress, address challenges, and celebrate successes with the team.

You will analyze project performance metrics and provide insights to improve future initiatives — your data-driven approach will help the team identify areas for optimization and enhance the overall user experience. You will also be responsible for maintaining documentation and ensuring that all project artifacts are up to date.

You will play a key role in fostering a culture of innovation within the team — you will encourage team members to share ideas and explore new technologies that can enhance the live sports experience. Your leadership will help create an environment where creativity and collaboration thrive.

What we offer

At Amazon, we offer a competitive salary range of $148,700.00 - $201,200.00 USD annually, along with comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) matching program, and generous paid time off. You will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where your contributions will directly impact the future of live sports streaming.

Join us at Amazon and be part of a team that is dedicated to delivering unforgettable sports experiences to millions of fans around the world. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement — your passion for sports and technology is what matters most.
