Software Engineer II, Backend (Identity Decisioning)

Who you are

You have 3+ years of experience in backend engineering, with a solid understanding of system design and architecture. You are comfortable working with Java and Spring, and you have experience building high-availability systems that can handle significant user loads. You understand the importance of low-latency systems and have a track record of delivering projects on time while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

You are a proactive communicator who enjoys working with product management and design teams to articulate technical constraints and contribute to ideation sessions. You have a strong sense of ownership over your work and are committed to maintaining the operational availability of your team’s systems. You are also open to participating in on-call efforts and monitoring system metrics to ensure everything runs smoothly.

You thrive in a collaborative environment and contribute to a sense of community within your team. You are eager to engage in growth and development activities, sharing knowledge and learning from your peers. You are adaptable and willing to take on new challenges as they arise, always looking for ways to improve processes and outcomes.

Desirable

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure would be a plus, as would familiarity with microservices architecture. If you have worked in a fintech environment or have a background in identity management systems, that would be advantageous.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for breaking down larger projects into manageable tasks and delivering them in phases. You will collaborate closely with your team’s tech lead and manager to ensure timely delivery of your work. You will also support your peers and stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle, participating in ideation sessions and helping to articulate technical constraints that inform product decisions.

You will monitor the performance of your team’s systems, creating and analyzing metrics to ensure operational availability. When issues arise, you will escalate them as needed and participate in on-call efforts to maintain system uptime. You will contribute to the overall success of the Identity Engineering team by engaging in community-building activities and supporting the growth and development of your colleagues.
