Job Description

Who you are

You have over 10 years of hands-on experience with Windows operating system engineering and architecture — you've designed and managed complex systems that support organizational goals. Your leadership skills shine through as you mentor and train talented engineers, guiding them in new technologies and best practices. You thrive in environments where you can take ownership of processes and systems, ensuring they align with the mission of making humanity a multiplanetary species.

Your ability to communicate complex solutions effectively to stakeholders and leadership is one of your key strengths — you can break down intricate technical concepts into understandable terms for diverse audiences. You are proactive in identifying blockers and inefficiencies, and you take the initiative to implement solutions that enhance operational efficiency. Your collaborative spirit allows you to work seamlessly with various stakeholders from multiple disciplines, driving projects that have a significant impact across the organization.

Desirable

Experience with cloud technologies or infrastructure as code would be a plus, as would familiarity with automation tools that streamline IT processes. A background in mentoring engineers in a fast-paced environment will set you apart, as will your ability to adapt to new conditions and scenarios quickly.

What you'll do

As a Principal IT Systems Engineer at SpaceX, you will architect efficient solutions that have organization-wide impact. You will lead projects that require collaboration with various stakeholders, ensuring that the solutions you design and implement are scalable and effective. Your role will involve mentoring and training engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.

You will provide rapid and effective guidance to adapt to new conditions, ensuring that the IT infrastructure remains robust and responsive to the needs of the organization. Documenting architecture and processes will be a key part of your responsibilities, promoting open collaboration and knowledge sharing among team members. You will also be tasked with identifying inefficiencies and single points of failure within existing systems, providing and implementing solutions to address these challenges.

What we offer

At SpaceX, you will be part of a mission-driven team that is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of technology and exploration. You will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects that contribute to the future of humanity in space. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, along with a dynamic work environment that encourages innovation and collaboration.
