Overview

WPP is seeking a Compliance Specialist to lead SOX and internal controls compliance. You'll ensure adherence to control requirements and facilitate discussions between teams. An accounting background is preferred for this role.

You have a strong background in compliance and internal controls, ideally with experience in SOX compliance. Your understanding of accounting principles will help you navigate the complexities of financial regulations and ensure adherence to established guidelines. You are detail-oriented and possess excellent analytical skills, allowing you to maintain accurate documentation and identify areas for improvement in compliance processes. You thrive in collaborative environments and can effectively communicate with various stakeholders to drive compliance initiatives forward.

Desirable

Experience in a shared services environment or with banking processes will be advantageous. Familiarity with compliance software and tools can enhance your ability to manage compliance tasks efficiently. A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous learning will set you apart in this role.

What you'll do

As a Compliance Specialist at WPP, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the SOX Control Matrix for all operating companies supported by the Shared Services Center (SSC). You will ensure that any changes to the control matrix are captured and documented promptly, maintaining the integrity of compliance processes. Your responsibilities will include conducting regular reviews of compliance requirements and ensuring that all SSC processes align with the Target Operating Model. You will also facilitate discussions between the SSC and the WPP Central Team, providing insights on performance and compliance metrics.

In this role, you will be responsible for training and guiding SSC staff on compliance matters, fostering a culture of compliance within the organization. You will collaborate with various teams to identify potential compliance risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Your ability to analyze data and generate reports will be essential in tracking compliance performance and presenting findings to management.
