Overview

Xometry is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead the technical design and engineering of systems for manufacturing intelligence. You'll work with Machine Learning and Python to predict and remediate challenges in manufacturing. This role requires 8+ years of experience, including 4 years in a technical leadership position.

Who you are

You have at least 8 years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on technical leadership. You have a proven track record of guiding collaborative teams and mentoring engineers to enhance their skills. Your hands-on approach means you are comfortable coding and troubleshooting, and you enjoy creating documentation and technical diagrams to support your team. While previous knowledge of manufacturing or machine learning is not required, it is beneficial. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are eager to adopt a 'lead by example' philosophy.

Desirable

Experience with machine learning frameworks and tools is a plus, as is familiarity with manufacturing processes. You are a strong communicator, able to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Your ability to foster a collaborative team environment is essential, as you will be working closely with cross-functional teams to drive innovation.

What you'll do

As a Principal Software Engineer at Xometry, you will lead the technical design and engineering of systems that leverage machine learning to predict and address challenges in manufacturing. You will actively participate in coding and troubleshooting, ensuring that your team adheres to best practices in software development. Your role will involve mentoring engineers across the organization, providing guidance and support to help them grow their technical skills.
