Motional is seeking a Principal Engineer for its Planning team to lead the development of motion planning and control systems for autonomous vehicles. You'll work with advanced algorithms and software development to create safe and intuitive driving experiences. This role requires expertise in robotics and algorithm development.
You have a strong background in robotics and software development, with a focus on motion planning and control systems. Your expertise in advanced algorithm development and robust software building enables you to create safe and intuitive routes for autonomous vehicles. You thrive on solving real-world challenges and are eager to contribute to production-ready autonomous driving solutions. With a passion for cutting-edge research, you are well-versed in probabilistic approaches and decision-making under uncertainty.
You possess excellent leadership skills, guiding cross-functional teams to define new interfaces and solve complex problems. Your ability to monitor system performance and identify areas for improvement is key to developing effective technical strategies. You are comfortable architecting and integrating complex combinations of algorithms, ensuring their evaluation and refinement for real-world deployment.
Experience with advanced search-based and geometry-based methods in motion planning is a plus.
