Google is seeking an Imaging Systems Architect to define and architect camera systems for AR/XR products. You'll leverage your expertise in image processing, computer vision, and electrical engineering to innovate in the Android XR Ecosystem. This role requires 6+ years of experience in camera or ISP system architecture.
You have a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience, along with at least 6 years of experience in camera or ISP system architecture. Your advanced knowledge may be complemented by a Master's degree or PhD in relevant fields such as Physics or Optics. You possess a strong background in XR (AR/VR), mobile, or wearables ecosystems, and have hands-on experience in image processing, denoising, and super resolution techniques. Your understanding of image sensors and emerging technologies in computer vision and computational photography is robust, and you are adept at navigating ambiguity while managing consensus across engineering teams.
Your expertise in AI on the edge and your ability to drive innovation in imaging systems make you a valuable asset to any team. You thrive in collaborative environments and are passionate about developing custom silicon solutions that enhance user experiences. You are comfortable working with cross-functional teams, including Core Tech, Platform Software, and Hardware NTI, to push the boundaries of technology.
A strong preference is given to candidates with experience in advanced camera technologies and algorithms. Familiarity with GenAI and event cameras will set you apart, as will your ability to influence technology roadmaps and conduct tradeoff analyses effectively. You are a thought leader in architecting end-to-end imaging subsystems and are eager to investigate new camera technologies that can drive innovation in future products.
As an Imaging Systems Architect, you will be responsible for defining and architecting the overall architecture of camera systems across AR/XR products. You will lead the architecture and requirements for the ISP, focusing on pipeline features, image quality, throughput, and power efficiency. Your role will involve collaborating on the selection of image sensors and other key components, ensuring that the architecture aligns with the latest advancements in imaging technology.
You will investigate new camera technologies and algorithms, driving innovation that will shape the next generation of hardware experiences. Your contributions will directly impact the performance, efficiency, and integration of Google's direct-to-consumer products, making you a key player in the Android XR Ecosystem team.
