You have experience in incident response and postmortems, ensuring that production systems are reliable and performant.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead a team of 5-8 engineers focused on building the next generation of MongoDB's archival infrastructure — you will oversee the complete Online Archive data pipeline, ensuring that customer data is efficiently moved from database clusters to cloud storage. Your leadership will be crucial in driving the technical direction of the team and ensuring high-quality deliverables.

You will be responsible for mentoring your team members, providing guidance on best practices in coding, architecture, and system design — you will conduct regular technical reviews and foster an environment of continuous learning and improvement. Collaborating closely with product management, you will help shape the archival product roadmap, ensuring that engineering efforts align with customer needs and business objectives.

Your role will also involve participating in a 24/7 support rotation approximately once every two months — you will lead incident response efforts and conduct postmortems to identify areas for improvement in production storage systems. Your hands-on approach will ensure that you remain engaged with the technical challenges the team faces, allowing you to provide valuable insights and solutions.
