Google is seeking an Application Engineering Manager for their Supply Chain Logistics team. You'll lead a team in designing and integrating applications while leveraging your expertise in Java and supply chain logistics. This role requires 12 years of experience in engineering and management.
You have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience, along with 12 years of experience in designing and integrating internal and third-party applications. With at least 5 years of experience managing, leading, and mentoring engineers, you possess strong leadership skills that inspire your team to excel. Your deep understanding of Java programming allows you to drive engineering and architecture strategies effectively, ensuring that your team delivers high-quality software solutions.
Your experience in the supply chain domain and logistics equips you with the knowledge to understand the unique challenges and requirements of this industry. You excel in communication, articulating technical ideas clearly to both your team and executive stakeholders. You are empowered to act like an owner, taking initiative to innovate and meet user and customer needs.
A Master's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related technical field is preferred, as it enhances your ability to navigate complex technical landscapes. As the Application Engineering Manager, you will lead all aspects of web development, from requirements gathering to software development, testing, documentation, training, implementation, ongoing support, and maintenance for both in-house and customer-facing web applications. You will manage an engineering team responsible for implementing various software products and designing internal applications that support business processes related to supply chain and engineering operations.
You will partner with internal business teams to develop system goals and delivery roadmaps, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. Your role will involve driving engineering and architecture strategies, guiding your team through the complexities of application integration and development. You will also be responsible for mentoring your engineers, fostering their professional growth and ensuring they have the resources needed to succeed.
In this position, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, utilizing UI and functional specs/prototypes as input for your projects. You will be expected to innovate continuously, adapting to changing user and customer needs while maintaining a focus on quality and efficiency. Your leadership will be crucial in building a culture of collaboration and excellence within your team.
