Waabi is seeking a Systems Software Engineer Intern for Summer 2026 to collaborate on software development for autonomous vehicle systems. You'll work with C++ and ROS, focusing on vehicle dynamics and control simulation.
You are an aspiring engineer with a strong foundation in software development, particularly in C++ and robotics. Your academic background has equipped you with the skills necessary to contribute to complex projects, and you are eager to apply your knowledge in a real-world setting. You have a keen interest in autonomous systems and are excited about the potential of AI in transforming transportation. You thrive in collaborative environments and are ready to work alongside multidisciplinary teams to tackle challenging problems. Your experience may include participation in robotics competitions or relevant projects that demonstrate your technical abilities and passion for innovation.
Experience with physics-based simulation environments for vehicle dynamics and controls is a plus. Familiarity with Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) APIs will enhance your contributions to the team. Any prior involvement in Formula SAE, Baja SAE, or similar competitions will be beneficial, showcasing your hands-on experience in vehicle systems.
As a Systems Software Engineer Intern at Waabi, you will be part of the Platform Requirements and Verification team, where you will collaborate with engineers and research scientists to enable safe self-driving technology at scale. Your primary focus will be on software development for tools that support validation and verification activities. You will work on vehicle dynamics and control simulation for autonomous vehicle systems, contributing to the development of innovative solutions that enhance safety and performance. You will also engage with Large Language Models (LLMs) to generate requirements and create test environments, gaining valuable experience in cutting-edge technologies.
