What you'll do

As the Lead Security Engineer at Contentful, you will own the security engineering function across the organization. This includes designing, building, and operating security controls and tooling that support the internal security team. You will collaborate closely with product security teams to ensure shared responsibilities are met effectively. Your role will involve providing strategic guidance and leading initiatives while remaining hands-on in the implementation of security solutions.

You will develop and mentor your team, fostering a culture of security awareness and best practices. Your responsibilities will include assessing security risks, developing mitigation strategies, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. You will also be involved in incident response planning and execution, ensuring that the organization is prepared to handle security incidents effectively.

In addition to technical responsibilities, you will play a key role in aligning security initiatives with business objectives. This will involve working with IT and other cross-functional partners to execute shared initiatives and ensure comprehensive risk mitigation. You will be expected to stay current with industry trends and emerging threats, adapting security strategies as necessary to protect the organization.
