Benchling is seeking a Software Engineer Intern for Summer 2026 to work on impactful projects in biotechnology. You'll design and implement backend models and API endpoints, and build frontend components. This role requires current enrollment in a BS/MS degree in computer science or related fields.
You are currently enrolled in a BS or MS degree in computer science or a related STEM field, with an expected graduation date between December 2026 and Summer 2027. You have a prior software engineering internship or similar experience, showcasing your ability to tackle complex problems and iterate based on feedback. Your strong problem-solving skills enable you to approach challenges with creativity and determination. You are eager to learn and contribute to meaningful projects that have a real-world impact, particularly in the biotechnology sector.
Experience with backend development and API design is a plus, as is familiarity with frontend technologies. You have a keen interest in biotechnology and how technology can accelerate scientific advancements. You are a collaborative team player who thrives in a dynamic environment, ready to take ownership of projects and contribute to the success of your team.
As a Software Engineer Intern at Benchling, you will own a project from initial design through to large-scale rollout. You might design and implement backend models and API endpoints that support complex scientific workflows, ensuring they are robust and scalable.
