SpaceX is seeking a Diamond Turning Machinist to manufacture sub-micron level tolerance diamond turned parts. You'll work with advanced equipment and contribute to innovative projects. This role requires experience in a production environment and CNC machine operation.
You have a high school diploma or equivalency certificate and at least 6 months of experience working in a production environment. You have also operated CNC machines for a minimum of 6 months, showcasing your ability to handle complex machinery. Your attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment are paramount. You are eager to learn and expand your skillset in diamond turning, ready to tackle unique challenges in manufacturing.
As a Diamond Turning Machinist at SpaceX, you will be responsible for the manufacturing and development of precision parts with sub-micron tolerances. You will follow defined work instructions and process controls to ensure maximum machine uptime. Your role will involve using metrology tools such as CMMs, optical microscopes, and Zygo interferometers to maintain quality standards. You will also be tasked with changing tools and tooling according to established processes, ensuring that production runs smoothly. Effective communication and data entry will be essential as you track work and report any issues that arise during the manufacturing process.
