Clarifai is hiring a Staff Software Engineer for Machine Learning Infrastructure to contribute to core ML infrastructure and help researchers train and serve models. You'll work with technologies like TensorFlow and PyTorch, requiring 3-5+ years of experience in developing machine learning systems.
You have 3-5+ years of experience developing machine learning infrastructure — you've worked on building and optimizing systems that support the entire ML lifecycle, ensuring that models are trained and deployed efficiently. Your familiarity with open-source software allows you to leverage existing tools and frameworks effectively.
You are comfortable working with production machine learning systems at scale — your hands-on experience means you understand the complexities involved in deploying models and maintaining their performance in real-world applications. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with research teams to design and build robust training infrastructure.
Your technical skills include prior experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Onnx — you have a solid understanding of how these frameworks operate and can prototype new training frameworks to enhance model performance. Additionally, your knowledge of Nvidia Triton and kubeflow positions you well to contribute to scalable solutions.
You have experience with Golang and relational databases — this background enables you to implement efficient data pipelines and manage data effectively within your ML projects. Your understanding of async processing is a plus, allowing you to optimize workflows and improve system responsiveness.
Experience with ETL/ELT pipelines is a great asset — you understand how to implement data transformation processes that are crucial for machine learning tasks. Your ability to work with data teams ensures that the data used for training models is clean, structured, and readily available.
In this role, you will be essential in contributing to Clarifai's core ML infrastructure — your work will directly impact how researchers and users train and serve state-of-the-art models to customers. You will collaborate with research teams to design and build our training infrastructure, ensuring that it meets the needs of various projects.
You will prototype new training frameworks and productionize solutions at scale — this involves testing and optimizing model integration infrastructure to enhance performance and reliability. Your role will also include working with the data team to implement ETL/ELT pipelines, ensuring that data flows seamlessly through the system.
As you contribute to the development of machine learning infrastructure, you will also be involved in optimizing existing systems — your insights will help improve the efficiency and effectiveness of model training and deployment processes. You will have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers, sharing your expertise and fostering a collaborative learning environment.
At Clarifai, we pride ourselves on being a leading AI platform with a commitment to innovation and excellence. You will be part of a diverse team that values collaboration and creativity, working on cutting-edge technology that transforms how organizations utilize AI.
We offer a flexible remote work environment, allowing you to balance your professional and personal life effectively. Our culture encourages continuous learning and growth, providing opportunities for professional development and career advancement.
Join us in our mission to revolutionize the way unstructured data is transformed into structured insights — your contributions will play a vital role in shaping the future of AI and machine learning.
We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement — your unique perspective and skills could be the perfect fit for our team.
