Job Description

Who you are

You have over 13 years of public policy experience, ideally with a focus on competition and economics. Your background includes advising on complex policy issues and working with various stakeholders, including industry associations and academic institutions. You possess a Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant discipline such as Law, Political Science, or Public Policy, which has equipped you with the analytical skills necessary for this role. Your strong oral and written communication skills allow you to effectively convey complex ideas and strategies to diverse audiences.

You are adept at monitoring legislative and regulatory activities, developing positioning, and drafting collateral that aligns with business objectives. Your experience includes designing and executing engagement strategies that mitigate risks and foster collaboration among stakeholders. You thrive in environments that require strategic thinking and the ability to navigate complex, often novel issues in competition policy.

Desirable

Experience working in international public policy, particularly in the context of competition law and economic development, is a plus. Familiarity with the regulatory landscape in Europe, the Middle East, and the Asia-Pacific region will enhance your ability to contribute effectively to Amazon's global strategy. You are comfortable with international travel as needed to support business objectives and stakeholder engagement.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be an integral part of Amazon's International Public Policy Central Team, advising on competition-related policy developments that impact Amazon's Consumer businesses. You will help shape the company's long-term strategy on high-impact issues, working closely with colleagues across the organization to demonstrate how Amazon fosters competition and benefits customers. Your role will involve collaborating with a broad coalition of external stakeholders, including industry associations and multilateral bodies, to advocate for policies that support innovation and competition.

You will monitor and report on relevant legislative and regulatory activities, developing positioning and drafting collateral to support outreach programs. Your strategic advice will guide in-country International Public Policy colleagues in designing and executing mitigation and engagement strategies tailored to specific jurisdictions. You will play a key role in ensuring that Amazon's voice is heard in policy discussions and that the company's interests are represented effectively.

What we offer

Amazon offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, financial, and other forms of compensation. You will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where your contributions will have a significant impact on the company's public policy strategy. This position will remain posted until filled, and we encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement. Join us in shaping the future of competition policy at Amazon.
