Senior Software Engineer, Data Science & Analytics Platform Engineering

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. With over 7 years of experience in software architecture design and development, you possess deep expertise in Service Oriented Architecture and Distributed Systems. Your background includes at least 2 years in technical leadership roles focused on platform engineering or infrastructure, where you've driven strategic decisions and mentored teams.

You are proficient with containerized technologies such as Docker and have experience with container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes and Terraform. Your proven ability to design, operate, and maintain distributed systems includes skills in monitoring, observability, and automation. You have strong development skills in building backend API services using Python, which you have utilized to create resilient and scalable infrastructure.

Desirable

Experience with cloud platforms and a solid understanding of data privacy and security principles will be advantageous. Familiarity with analytics systems and the ability to influence technical direction across multiple organizations will set you apart.

What you'll do

In this role, you will define the technical vision for the Data Science & Analytics Platform and lead the architectural evolution of the platform infrastructure. You will collaborate with analytics teams to enable Data Science for Apple Services, ensuring that the infrastructure supports seamless operations at enterprise scale. Your responsibilities will include driving strategic platform decisions, mentoring team members, and influencing technical direction across various organizations.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to build and optimize the platform that supports Apple's analytics ecosystem. Your role will involve ensuring that the systems operate efficiently while safeguarding customer privacy and trust. You will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of best practices in software development and architecture, ensuring that the platform remains robust and scalable.
