Overview

Amazon is hiring an Engineering Operations Technician to maintain mission-critical technology infrastructure. You'll work with electrical and mechanical systems to ensure 99.999% uptime. This position requires hands-on troubleshooting skills and knowledge of data center operations.

You are an Engineering Technician with a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical systems — you thrive in hands-on environments where you can troubleshoot and maintain critical infrastructure. Your experience includes working with diesel generators, three-phase electrical systems, and various cooling and power equipment. You understand the importance of uptime in data centers and are committed to ensuring seamless operations. You are a team player who enjoys collaborating with diverse groups of engineers and specialists to solve complex problems. You have a proactive mindset and are always looking for ways to improve processes and systems. You are eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment, and you are excited about the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology.

Desirable

Experience with AWS infrastructure is a plus, as is familiarity with data center operations and maintenance. Knowledge of safety protocols and best practices in electrical and mechanical systems will help you excel in this role.

What you'll do

As an Engineering Operations Technician at Amazon, you will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting mission-critical facilities that support AWS data centers. Your role will involve working with stand-by diesel generators, UPS systems, PDUs, and various cooling systems to ensure they operate efficiently. You will conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment, identifying and resolving issues before they impact operations. You will collaborate with other technicians and engineers to implement improvements and optimize system performance. Your expertise will contribute to maintaining the high uptime standards that AWS is known for, directly impacting the customer experience. You will also participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in data center operations.
