Overview

Appian is seeking an Account Executive to lead Commercial and Financial Services Sales across the United States. You'll navigate complex sales cycles and build top-of-funnel activity. This role requires experience in managing sales processes effectively.

You have a proven track record in sales, particularly in navigating complex sales cycles from start to finish. Your experience includes leveraging internal resources and collaborating cross-functionally with customer success teams and external partners. You are driven by results and are passionate about solving customer challenges through innovative solutions. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are committed to achieving excellence in every aspect of your work.

You understand the importance of building strong relationships with clients and have the skills to engage effectively with various stakeholders. Your ability to communicate clearly and persuasively allows you to present solutions that resonate with customers. You are adaptable and can adjust your strategies based on customer needs and market dynamics. You are also comfortable working independently while being a collaborative team player.

Desirable

Experience in the financial services sector is a plus, as it allows you to better understand the unique challenges faced by clients in this industry. Familiarity with digital transformation solutions will enhance your ability to connect with potential customers and articulate the value of Appian's offerings. A background in technology sales will also be beneficial, as it equips you with the knowledge to discuss technical aspects of the solutions you sell.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead the sales efforts for Appian's solutions within the Commercial and Financial Services sectors across the United States. You will be responsible for managing a geographic territory, identifying potential clients, and building a robust pipeline of opportunities. Your day-to-day activities will involve conducting outreach to prospective clients, understanding their needs, and presenting tailored solutions that drive digital transformation.

You will navigate the entire sales cycle, from initial contact through to closing deals. This includes conducting product demonstrations, negotiating contracts, and ensuring a smooth transition for clients to the implementation phase. You will collaborate closely with internal teams, including marketing and customer success, to ensure that you have the resources and support needed to succeed.

Your success will be measured by your ability to meet and exceed sales targets, as well as your effectiveness in building long-term relationships with clients. You will also be expected to stay informed about industry trends and competitive landscape to position Appian effectively in the market. Regular reporting on sales activities and outcomes will be part of your responsibilities, allowing you to track your progress and adjust strategies as needed.
