About the Role

We at Innovaccer are looking for a Staff Engineer specializing in Artificial Intelligence (AI) who leads the design, development, and deployment of advanced AI systems. This role requires deep technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a strong ability to align AI solutions with business objectives. As a senior-level position, the Staff Engineer is responsible for driving innovation and ensuring the scalability and reliability of AI systems.

A Day in the Life

• Design, build, and optimize machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL) models, including generative AI frameworks like transformers and GANs
• Develop end-to-end AI system architectures that integrate with existing business platforms.
• Build and manage data ingestion, transformation pipelines, and infrastructure to support scalable AI solutions.
• Conduct statistical analyses, run experiments, and interpret results to guide decision-making.
• Deploy AI models into production environments, monitor performance, and ensure continuous improvement.
• Work closely with data scientists, software engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders to align AI initiatives with organizational goals.
• Identify potential biases in AI models and ensure ethical considerations are addressed during development.
• Mentored junior engineers, set technical standards, and led the team in adopting cutting-edge technologies.

What You Need

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering or data science roles with a focus on AI/ML.
• Proven track record of designing scalable AI systems in production environments.
• Experience with natural language processing (NLP), computer vision (CV), or other specialized AI domains.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and Scala.
• Expertise in ML/DL frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras.
• Strong foundation in mathematics (linear algebra, calculus, probability) and statistics.
• Knowledge of generative AI techniques (e.g., LLMs) and prompt engineering.
• Experience with big data tools (Hadoop, Spark) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Familiarity with APIs for integrating AI models into applications.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
