Job Description

As Principal Architect, you will be responsible for providing expert solutions, implement, and support products and tools related to Tekion’s Operating Cloud. Your role will involve deep knowledge of products, functionalities, best practices, and their application within the organization and for engagement with external users. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams in analyzing business requirements, architecting and building key components to continue to scale Tekion's business. 

 You will work cross-functionally with both technical and non-technical teams, including business development, product management, software engineering, QA, security and departmental executives, to drive tangible results. Capable of presenting designs and ideas to an Architecture Review Board and to Technology and Business senior management

Key Responsibilities

  • Works with product owners and developers to deliver key features and functionalities 
  • Develop and deliver a unified platform that seamlessly connects internal capabilities with external experiences - laying the groundwork for scalable, long-term innovation.​ 
  • Design and deliver a harmonized application architecture to fully leverage AI, Analytics, and Automation—fuelling effective decisions, and elevated experiences for all stakeholders.​ 
  • Provides guidance on continuous integration and test-driven development practices 
  • Develops API strategy for the overall application 
  • Helps drive Agile ceremonies including iteration planning, standups and retrospectives 
  • Develops cloud deployment model of application 
  • As needed, develops and tests code for UI, services and integration tiers of an application component 
  • Works with product team to understand business use cases for adopting cloud native approach to developing software 
  • Develop technology strategy for engagement 
  • Ensures technical collaboration and alignment between cross teams 
  • Technology competency areas Cloud Native, Microservices and APIs, Reactive Systems, Analytics & Streaming Pipelines, Devops CI/CD 

Skills and Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in architecture, designing, and implementing large-scale distributed services-oriented systems. 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Applications Architect
  • Experience with SOA, Microservices architecture, API Management & Enterprise system Integrations is a must.
  • Proficient with Java/JEE technologies, jQuery, JSON, Angular, Kafka
  • Good to have Golang, Python experience
  • Experience with implementing AI technologies
  • Experience with cloud implementations preferably in AWS
  • Deep understand of dashboards and measuring software components to make informed decisions about capacity and infrastructure components
  • Experience with both RDBMS such as Maria DB/MySQL and No-SQL database such MongoDB
  • Experience with GIT, Jenkins, & AWS
  • Experience as a mentor, influencing others, or related leadership experience.
  • Experience working in an Agile Environment with great collaboration skills
  • Ability to establish relationships with business, IT leaders and technology subject matter experts
  • Ability to lead and work closely with different teams, able to learn quickly, meet deadlines and demonstrate advance problem solving and analytical skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills that include the ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally with technical and non-technical personnel.
