You have a background in software engineering with a focus on procedural geometry and simulation, ideally within the film, animation, or gaming industries. Your experience includes working with procedural tools for effects such as fur, hair, and cloth, and you have a strong interest in mathematics and physics that informs your work. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with artists and developers to create innovative solutions that enhance the animation process. In this role, you will be part of Netflix Animation Studios' core R&D group, based in Sydney. You will develop and support tools and techniques that enhance the visual effects production process, focusing on natural phenomena simulation and procedural geometry generation. You will collaborate directly with artists to understand their requirements and challenges, adapting your solutions to cater to the unique look and style of each film.
