We are looking for Software Development Engineer in Luxembourg to be part of our Transportation Business Intelligence team. Our software systems include services that handle peta-byte data volumes, integrate with a network of transportation services worldwide, and drive business decisions impacting millions of Amazon customers and billions of dollars a year. We have an opportunity to build software that scales the business, leads the industry through innovation and delights millions of customers worldwide. We leverage advanced technologies in big data, optimization techniques, machine learning, real time analytics and high volume, low latency, high availability services.


Key job responsibilities
- Designing and developing highly scalable, reliable, and maintainable software systems that power the core analytics capabilities of the ShipTech platform. This involves collaborating closely with product managers, data scientists, and other engineers to translate complex business requirements into innovative technical solutions.
- You will be expected to write clean, well-documented code that adheres to best practices and industry standards, while also participating actively in code reviews to ensure the codebase remains robust and secure. Additionally, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving intricate technical issues, as well as proactively identifying opportunities for system optimizations and architectural improvements.
- As a senior member of the team, you will be expected to mentor and guide junior engineers, share your deep technical expertise, and contribute to the overall technical strategy and roadmap for ShipTech Analytics. This includes providing technical leadership on architectural decisions, design patterns, and development methodologies to ensure the team delivers scalable, high-performance, and user-centric solutions.
- Ultimately, you will play a pivotal role in driving the continuous evolution and innovation of the ShipTech Analytics platform, while maintaining a strong focus on quality, reliability, and operational excellence.

About the team
The ShipTech Analytics team develops leading analytics platform that powers Amazon's vast transportation operations. We work closely with stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into innovative technical solutions, empowering users to visualize data, uncover trends, and make data-driven decisions that drive efficiency, cost savings, and customer satisfaction. Leveraging the latest technologies and data engineering practices, our team is at the forefront of building scalable, high-performance analytics applications that support Amazon's continued growth and leadership in the transportation and logistics space. We are a collaborative group of passionate engineers and scientists committed to delivering transformative analytics capabilities. - Experience (non-internship) in professional software development
- Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
- Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
