Principal Data Scientist - Machine Learning

Who you are

You have a strong background in data science with a focus on machine learning — your experience includes designing, building, and deploying machine learning models that address complex business problems. You are skilled in working with both structured and unstructured data, and you understand how to optimize data pipelines for performance and scalability.

You possess excellent analytical skills and a knack for extracting actionable insights from data — your ability to collaborate cross-functionally with engineers and researchers allows you to effectively contribute to team projects. You have a proven track record of working in a fast-paced environment and are comfortable navigating ambiguity — your innovative mindset enables you to think critically and propose creative solutions to challenges. You are committed to continuous learning and staying updated with the latest advancements in data science and machine learning.

Desirable

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure would be a plus, as would familiarity with data visualization tools. You are also encouraged to apply if you have experience in deploying machine learning models in production environments.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing machine learning models that solve real-world business challenges — your work will directly impact AvePoint's ability to optimize data security and governance solutions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that the models you develop are aligned with business objectives and can be effectively integrated into existing systems.

You will shape and engineer data pipelines to ensure optimal model performance and scalability — this involves working with various data sources and ensuring data quality throughout the process. Your role will also include conducting experiments to validate model performance and iterating on designs based on feedback and results.

You will play a key role in mentoring junior data scientists and sharing your expertise with the team — fostering a culture of learning and collaboration is essential to your success in this position. You will also be involved in presenting your findings and insights to stakeholders, helping to drive data-driven decision-making across the organization.
