Senior Backend / SDK Engineer, Growth Infrastructure

Who you are

You have 5+ years of backend engineering experience building production systems at scale — you've owned services from design through deployment and have navigated the complexities of distributed systems. Your expertise in Java, Python, and Go allows you to develop robust backend services that power high-performance applications. You understand the importance of telemetry ingestion and have experience designing scalable pipelines that handle millions of transactions per second.

You are familiar with licensing services and have designed systems for usage metering and entitlement APIs — your experience includes implementing high-watermark billing logic and token validation. You thrive in environments where you can develop and maintain developer-facing SDKs, ensuring they are user-friendly and efficient. Your knowledge of cloud deployments and self-managed systems enables you to create solutions that are both reliable and scalable.

You are a collaborative team player who enjoys working closely with cross-functional teams — you understand that great products come from effective communication and teamwork. You are comfortable with API-first design and have experience with technologies like Kafka for messaging and BigQuery or Snowflake for data warehousing. What you'll do

In this role, you will build backend services that support Aerospike’s growth platform — your responsibilities will include designing and maintaining scalable telemetry ingestion pipelines that ensure product usage signals flow reliably. Aerospike provides a competitive salary range for California-based applicants, with compensation between $133,700 and $173,810, depending on experience and location.
