Job Description

Who you are

You have a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of renovation processes — your experience allows you to accurately assess the work needed based on inspection reports and market conditions. You are skilled in translating complex data into clear, actionable scopes of work that guide field teams effectively. Your judgment is critical in determining necessary repairs and ensuring that all estimates align with company standards and pricing strategies.

You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with pricing and home operations teams to optimize renovation scopes — your ability to integrate various inputs into a cohesive plan is essential for success. You understand the importance of competitive pricing and are adept at adjusting scopes based on market demand signals. Your analytical mindset helps you navigate the complexities of home renovations, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards.

What you'll do

As a Renovation Estimator at Opendoor, you will be responsible for translating third-party inspection reports into detailed scopes of work — this involves evaluating defects and determining the necessary repairs to prepare homes for resale. You will apply repair standards and pricing guidelines to ensure that all estimates are accurate and competitive. Your role will require you to partner closely with the pricing team to incorporate their insights and requests into your scopes of work, ensuring that every renovation aligns with market expectations.

You will also be tasked with maintaining a comprehensive understanding of market conditions and how they impact renovation needs — this knowledge will enable you to make informed decisions that enhance the company's ability to resell homes effectively. Your contributions will play a vital role in shaping the renovation strategies that drive Opendoor's success in the real estate market.
