Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in mechanical engineering principles, particularly in cryogenic applications. Your expertise includes hardware design and driving designs through full product development cycles, from requirements gathering to testing. You are proficient in 3D CAD software, specifically SolidWorks, and have experience with thermal and structural finite element analysis using tools like Ansys and COMSOL. You thrive in a collaborative environment, working effectively within cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions. Your understanding of cryogenic mechanical engineering theory and its practical implementation sets you apart in this specialized field.

Desirable

Experience with novel packaging solutions for quantum processors and familiarity with EMI mitigation techniques would be advantageous. A passion for cutting-edge technology and a desire to contribute to the advancement of quantum computing will enhance your fit for this role.

What you'll do

As a Mechanical Engineer at Amazon, you will be responsible for designing cryogenic hardware that supports AWS quantum computing initiatives. You will collaborate with scientists and engineers to develop high-density packaging solutions and cryogenic mechanical designs for signal delivery systems. Your role will involve simulation-driven designs to address EMI challenges within the qubit environment. You will own the end-to-end product development process, ensuring that designs meet both performance and manufacturability criteria. Your contributions will directly impact the scaling of signal delivery to quantum processor systems, enhancing their thermal performance and overall efficiency.

What we offer
