Job Description

Who you are

You have at least 2 years of experience in corrosion control, painting, or sandblasting within an industrial setting — you understand the importance of quality and safety in your work. Your background includes familiarity with the National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) standards and you are well-versed in material safety data sheets (MSDS) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations. You are comfortable operating various industrial tools and equipment, including spray coating equipment, pneumatic air tools, and heavy machinery. Your attention to detail ensures that you meet industry standards for sandblasting and coating applications.

Desirable

You have 5+ years of industrial painting experience, which has equipped you with a deep understanding of the nuances of different coating systems and their applications. Your knowledge of heavy equipment safety protocols is a significant asset, allowing you to operate aerial platforms and forklifts with confidence. You are proactive in identifying and treating corrosion, ensuring that components are adequately prepared for painting.

What you'll do

As a Corrosion Control Technician at SpaceX, you will be responsible for the production tools and applications of various coating systems aimed at asset protection. Your role will involve sandblasting to acceptable industry standards and operating spray coating equipment to meet both industrial and commercial standards. You will also be tasked with quality brush and roll applications of industrial and commercial coatings, ensuring that corrosion control on carbon steel and stainless steel is effectively managed using pneumatic air tools, needle guns, and scalers. Safety is paramount, and you will adhere to all operational protocols while using heavy equipment and aerial platforms.

You will work in a fast-paced environment, where your ability to perform painting tasks efficiently while adhering to tight schedules will be crucial. Your expertise will contribute to the overall quality and safety of SpaceX's operations, as you identify, remove, and treat corrosion in preparation for painting. Collaboration with other team members will be essential, as you work together to meet production goals and maintain high standards of quality control.

What we offer
