Site Reliability Engineering Manager, Storage - Apple Services Engineering

Who you are

You are an experienced Engineering Manager with a strong background in distributed storage systems — you have a proven track record of leading SRE teams and delivering robust storage solutions that scale across various compute platforms. Your educational background includes a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, which has equipped you with the technical knowledge necessary for this role.

You possess deep knowledge of SRE principles, including monitoring, alerting, error budgets, and fault analysis — you understand the importance of reliability engineering concepts and how they apply to large-scale systems. Your experience in managing teams across geographic regions demonstrates your ability to lead diverse groups effectively, fostering collaboration and innovation.

Your technical expertise includes a strong foundation in distributed systems and block storage — you are comfortable working with complex architectures and have a passion for enhancing system reliability and performance. You are proficient in at least one programming language such as Golang, Java, or Rust, which allows you to engage with your team on a technical level.

You have experience with Kubernetes, virtualization, and containerization technologies — your familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code tools like Terraform and Ansible further enhances your capability to drive efficient development processes. You also have a solid understanding of security best practices and compliance, ensuring that the systems you manage are secure and reliable.

What you'll do
