Astranis is seeking a PCBA Production Team Lead to drive the production strategy for advanced satellite technology. You'll oversee PCBA assembly and test operations, ensuring high-quality standards. This role requires expertise in hardware engineering and production processes.
You have a strong background in hardware engineering with a focus on PCBA production — your experience includes leading teams and managing production strategies to meet aggressive targets. You understand the intricacies of the production lifecycle, from equipment selection to capacity planning, and you have a keen eye for quality assurance in mission-critical environments.
Your technical skills include proficiency in Altium Designer and Embedded Linux, which you have utilized to optimize production processes and improve design-for-manufacturability. You are comfortable collaborating with design engineering teams to implement improvements that enhance product quality and efficiency.
You possess excellent leadership qualities, having successfully managed teams in high-pressure environments. Your ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams ensures that production goals are met while maintaining a focus on safety and quality standards.

As the PCBA Production Team Lead, you will be responsible for establishing and scaling the internal PCBA production capabilities at Astranis. This includes developing and implementing production strategies that align with the company's aggressive rate targets. You will lead all PCBA assembly and test operations, ensuring that the highest levels of quality are achieved to meet mission-critical requirements.
You will oversee the full production lifecycle, which involves selecting the right equipment and processes, designing factory layouts, and planning capacity to meet production demands. Your role will also include staffing the production team and introducing new products into the manufacturing process, working closely with design engineering to champion improvements in design-for-manufacturability.
