Job Description

Amazon is looking for a Software Development Engineer to join our Global RME (Reliability and Maintenance Engineering) Central Team in the Reliability and Automation Engineering department. This is your opportunity to play a key role in developing and maintaining mission-critical systems and software solutions that power our global fulfillment network.

Key job responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain systems used for equipment monitoring and control, predictive maintenance or operational excellence.
- Build secure, scalable, and user-friendly applications that empower maintenance teams and reliability engineers across Amazon’s global network.
- Architect cloud-native solutions that meet enterprise security and performance standards.
- Collaborate closely with field teams, engineers, and leadership to understand operational needs and develop tailored solutions.
- Drive automation and reliability improvements to enhance system resilience and reduce operational burden.

Who You Are:

- A highly autonomous engineer with a passion for systems and software development, automation, and industrial integration.
- Have strong coding skills.
- A problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced, agile environment.
- A strong communicator with excellent time management and collaboration skills.
- A forward-thinker excited about solving challenges at scale.- Experience (non-internship) in professional software development
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, TypeScript) and object-oriented programming languages (Java, C#, C++).
- Experience with cloud services and infrastructure preferably from AWS: S3, Lambda, RDS, System Manager, API Gateway, AppSync, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, EC2, IAM).
- Knowledge of database systems and SQL and infrastructure as code (AWS CDK).
- Proven record of taking projects from scoping and design to full implementation and launch.
